We are seeking a Sales Manager for a successful and growing industrial distributorship based in Chicago. This is a key executive leadership role and will lead and mentor a team of 10+ field representatives. Candidate must have proven sales management experience (leading a team). Field sales ideal, but could have been an inside team.Ideal candidate will have experience in distribution, manufacturing, chemical/oil, transportation or logistics industries. Proven success managing a team, establishing sales strategies, training, and hiring staff.Responsibilities:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly interaction with sales team to mentor, coach and inspire sales progress
  • Develop individual goals, evaluate and structure sales activities
  • Work with suppliers on special pricing and programs
  • Provide guidance, support, training
  • Collaborate with main supplier on programs, pricing, new product training, etc.

Requirements:

  • Highly organized with technical competency (MS Office Suite, CRM Conversion)
  • Understand the dynamics of dealing with multi-level sales people (veterans and entry level)
  • Leadership and decision making skills
  • Proven skills developing and implementing sales strategies, design structure and accountability to sales processes and techniques
  • Experience developing and marketing promotions/incentive programs a plus
  • Create an atmosphere of team collaboration, accountability, and encouragement
