REGIONAL SALES DIRECTORThe ideal candidate will be driven, energetic individual with strong initiative. This position will operate in a dynamic manufacturing and customer service oriented environment. The Sales Director will provide global leadership and coordination of regional sales activities within the company. The product range is broad, covers many sectors & markets, and is sold both direct & through third party distribution channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Sales/Account Management and Customer Service teams for assigned regions
  • Develop and execute business/regional sales & marketing action plan
  • Achieve volume & profit goals through the effective management of internal & external resources
  • Identify & establish new opportunities & markets to increase customer base as well as market share & profitability
  • Solution selling – understanding customer problems & challenges, developing specific solutions to profitably meet customer needs
  • Successfully negotiate annual and longer term contracts with key partners and customers
  • Develop short and mid-term forecasts
  • Lead multi-functional resources as required to support customer related projects
  • Effectively communicate with key stakeholders including customers, global sales teams, upper management as well as other cross-functional teams
  • Develop business relationships with key customers at various levels
  • Lead annual budgeting efforts for assigned regions.
  • Identify, assess and recommend sales/customer strategies to achieve profitable sales growth
  • Represent company at industry meetings, trade shows & conferences
  • In collaboration with the Marketing department, gather and analyze market intelligence to develop longer term business strategies
  • Provide input to Engineering & R&D on market/product direction

Background/Skills:

  • BS highly preferred, MBA required
  • 8-10 years of demonstrated senior level sales & business development experience
  • Knowledge of & experience in various related markets/industries such as Medical, Oil & Gas, Security, Defense highly desirable
  • Excellent written, verbal & presentation skills
  • Financial acumen – ability to manage budgets & P&L
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of sales & marketing techniques, pricing methodologies, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure, negotiate & conclude complex agreements with customers
  • Proven track record of global sales management & cultural skills is a strong plus
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on building & maintaining strong working relationships and ability collaborate globally & across functional lines
  • Willingness to travel (50-70%)
