We are looking for a Territory Manager to cover the Midwestern US, responsible for direct sales to distributors within the assigned area.

Required to increase sales and market share with customers in the following business segments: construction supply, welding/industrial, tool rental, tile, flooring, etc.

Territory Managers build brand awareness and customer loyalty with regular calls to end-users, either independently, or with distributor sales people.

The successful candidate will work out of their home office based in Kansas City, with frequent travel to be expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities for business, maintaining profit margins and increasing sales volume
  • Prospect and develop new distributor relationships
  • Market the company’s products to build the brand and generate end user demand
  • Develop sales strategies/plans including forecasting and trend analysis
  • Utilize existing relationships and industry knowledge to find new opportunities for growth
  • Support new product development

Qualifications:

  • Experience selling abrasives, including diamond super-abrasives and related equipment is preferred
  • Our client may consider candidates with related experience selling welding supplies, industrial gases, power tools, cutting tools and machine tools with strong distributor development experience
  • Significant experience developing relationships with distributors and end users, including how to train and motivate distributor sales people, developing distributor sales and promotional plans
  • An existing network within the construction industry, as well as with industrial/channel distributors
  • Extremely self-motivated and able to work individually and remotely
  • Growth minded – driven to grow the territory, maximize profit and increase sales
