A growing manufacturer of automotive components inNorthern Indiana is looking for a Quality Director to lead the development,implementation and maintenance of a TS16949 quality management system. He or she will lead a team of Quality Managers, Engineers and Technicians to create and implement a quality system based on TS16949 and other automotive customer requirements.

This is a multi-plant site.The Quality Director must have an excellent understanding and solid experience with all parts of the APQP and PPAP processes, as well as excellent leadership and customerinteraction experience.Regular face-to-face interaction with OEM and/or Tier 1 automotive customers is expected. Required skills and knowledge include TS16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, internal auditing, third-party audits, metrology, root cause analysis/problem solving (8D, 5 Why, etc), statistically designed experiments, complaint investigations, calibration management, advanced statistical analysis and quality methods training.In addition to supervisory and administrative duties, the Quality Director is expected to provide shop floor quality engineering support.A 4-year engineering or technical degree from an accredited university is required, along with at least 3 years of experience in automotive quality leadership and 5 years totalautomotive quality engineering experience.ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, etc) and Lean/Six Sigma belts are preferred.Experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is required.Communication skills are absolutely critical.
