Provide guidance and information to employees and supervision by applying knowledge in employee relations, performance management, compensation, training & development, etc.
Represent the Company as a visible, approachable and professional HR practitioner. Foster employee engagement and address issues and/or escalate issues to the next level of management for assisted resolution.
In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team, participate in the recruitment process where appropriate including requisition processing, job postings, interviews, employment offers, etc.
Support the Human Resources Lead Team (HRLT) with the implementation and/or administration of programs (e.g. PMP, SIP/MIP, Code of Conduct, Diversity, etc.).
Participate in various HR projects including: conducting research, conducting analysis, and developing communication materials.
Ensure all administrative and transactional work associated with supporting the site is completed in a timely manner.
Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
University/college degree or diploma in Human Resources Management.
Completion or progress towards CHRP or equivalent.
Five (5) years of progressive human resources experience including experience as a HR Generalist with involvement in the following areas: recruitment & selection, employee/labour relations and training & development, preferably within a manufacturing, warehouse, or laboratory environment.
Strong knowledge of Provincial and Federal employment legislation (e.g. Employment Standards, Human Rights, etc.) and Corporate employee policies and guidelines.
Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including strong word processing and spreadsheet skills. Proficient in HRIS database or equivalent.
Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment.
Ability to gain credibility and develop effective relationships with a diverse client group.
Ability to diagnose and successfully handle moderately complex employee relations issues utilizing effective conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
Strength of character to model appropriate behaviour/values when managing difficult situations.
Confidence to act assertively and purposefully when appropriate.
Demonstrated ability to progress into more senior roles.
Effective organization skills with the ability to manage a large number of tasks and responsibilities.
Effective, clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
