Key responsibilities include:

• Work with various Company functional groups to analyze business needs to provide appropriate, innovative, and cost effective architectural options;
• Evaluate technologies for inclusion in forward-looking technology strategies or to replace existing technology that is no longer beneficial to own and support;

• Assist development teams with design and product architecture;
• Review proposed solutions from product development;
• Analyze technology issues and propose short, mid and long-term solutions;
• Assist in scalability & capacity planning;
• Work with other senior technology leaders to propose technical solutions and craft architecture & technology roadmap;
• Assist in ROI analysis;
• Assist in capacity planning / systems design;
• Work with internal and external customers on technical solutions;
• Assist in process development for the technology organization;
• Implement rigorous processes and tools to perform design reviews as part of the SDLC process, release management process and QA & Testing processes; and
• Ensure optimal reuse using Industry Standard Patterns and Frameworks and creating specific works to leverage internally or with our customers.
• 15+ years of experience in architecture and/or software development and design.
• MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics, or related experience.
• Experience designing (and using) distributed technologies.
• Experience creating a Multi-tiered architecture preferred.
• Strong communication skills are a must, along with a team-oriented attitude.
• Strong software engineering background a must, solid understanding of application development and related technologies.
• Strong strategic planning skills.
• Experience in database design.
• Excellent client-facing, written and verbal communication skills are a must.
• Familiarity with messaging systems and resultant architecture (e.g. 29West, Tibco, Solace, Tervela, 0MQ).
• Experience managing solutions and integration with FIX connectivity, Prime Brokers, Clearing platforms and Market Data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, Reuters, Markit, EMSX, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, FXConnect, FXAll, ClearPar, Oasys, Omgeo, DTC, Euroclear etc.).
• Experience in the hands on operation and ongoing support of OMS, Trade Support, Security Master, Research and Risk Management solutions.
• Experience with data interfaces between systems, typical service provider data requirements/availability on the ”buy side”.
• Experience in large-scale, high-volume, mission critical and high performance solutions preferred.
• Experience implementing object-oriented, component based, service oriented architectures preferred.
• Experience designing and using web services and messaging preferred.
• Scalability & capacity planning experience a plus.
• Experience designing/managing infrastructure a plus.
