Job Description
Responsibilities Include
- Manage month end close, quarter end, and year-end process for US and Canada to ensure financial statement accuracy and integrity.Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are reconciled.Complete month end variance analysis along with budget/forecast/estimates for US and Canada HQ Locations.Maintain current internal controls in addition to provide recommendation for new controls as needed.Maintain direct relationship with Anixter’s external auditors, as well as, considerable interaction with internal customers at all levels of the organization.Work on ad hoc analysis and special projects which are an essential component of the position.Minimal travel may be required.

- The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 8+ years of accounting and finance experience.Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience is required.Proven track record of mentoring, motivating, coaching, and developing staff.Ability to understand and how transactions flow through systems as well as their financial impact.Assertive self-starter that drives for results along with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast paced environment.Creative and innovative approach to solving problems with proven leadership skills to make sound decisions.Excellent organization, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills are a must.Proficiency in Excel ( complex spreadsheets) is required.Experience in Essbase ( or comparable reporting tool), PeopleSoft ( or comparable ERP systems), Microsoft Access is a plus.
