At the conclusion of each interview you should attempt to make a good, lasting impression.Even ifyou have questions that need to be resolved you should end the interview with an affirmation of your interest in pursuing the position. When the interviewer signals the interview is over, shake his hand and say something to the effect of, "_______, I certainly appreciate the opportunity to talk with you today. I think you have an excellent opportunity here and I'd be very interested in going to work for you." If you have doubts about doing this, remember:Everything is academic unless you get an offer.Assuming they will automatically see your interest and what a wonderful person you are is a mistake. Telling them, in certain terms, that you are interested is the single most effective thing you can do to increase your odds of getting an offer, and it obligates you to absolutely nothing. It is understood that your interest is contingent on the ability of both parties to work out the details later.
