This post is the second in a series designed to help you write your own resume and put your skills and accomplishments in a format that will appeal to all those strangers out there who will be viewing your resume.Your Marketing Message. The top quarter to third of your resume should have impact! The Reader should be able to fold back the top part of your resume and know that you are potentially a great fit for their position.

I use Arial for the whole resume and capitalize and bold the name in up to 14 font. Under your name I put the City, State, Email and a phone number in size 10 and bold. If you live near a large city-use the name of that city as your location if you are looking to appeal to those outside of your area. When I am away from home or on the phone with those outside my area I always use Chicago as my location.Next we will discuss your marketing message and competencies. My mission is to help you look GREAT on paper/online so you get that call!
