Our client is a global leader in wireless network communications, providing state of the art technology impacting close to 1 billion people daily. We are working exclusively on a newly created position for a Senior Software Developer / Engineer focused on developing prototypes and proof of concepts using software technologies for their wireless networks. Their results are tested in live wireless networks (they are not building lab projects).This is a cutting edge technology team, a "think tank" type group in the Silicon Valley area. They want out-of-the-box thinkers who are into new ideas and concepts and implementing them into projects that will create business opportunities or added value for existing products. This individual will work in Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, OR Cloud Infrastructure areas (Telco Cloud, Software Defined networking). They have the responsibility of specifying, planning, reporting, designing and reviewing in his/her technical area (e.g. system component). He/She is an expert for techno-economical aspects in own responsibility area. Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required / Advanced Degree strongly desired.
• 5-10+ years of software development / coding experience REQUIRED (working on the server side - Java (or Modern OO, DSL languages), Python, Ruby as well as the client side - jQuery, HTML5, CSS). Ability to design and author cutting-edge backend services running in the cloud environment using frameworks like: POJO, Spring, OSGi
• Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage following TDD/BDD principles, working in a professional software engineering environment (with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous deployment)
• Ability to work with Big Data NOSQL database technology
• Additional technical knowledge in the following a PLUS: Linux, Spring, JPA, relational databases (Oracle or mySQL), and the normal development tools like Eclipse, svn, git, maven.
• Documented contribution to a widely used open source project is preferred
• Keen interest and someone who has a pulse on new technologies - because it's in your nature not a requirement of the job; someone who is curious as to why things work!
• Experience with: AKKA & SCALA, Rackspace, Amazon Cloud, or EECloud (eucalyptus) beneficial, not required
• Experience with web interface design and implementation using HTML5 is beneficial
• Experience with Agile development and ability to manage methodologies effectively, Scrum Master Certificate Desired.
• Experience with a start-up company, group, or program, is beneficial.
• Working knowledge and/or practical experience in the following areas: big data, cloud computing/services, application/service virtualization, machine learning, or wireless technologies (WiFi, WCDMA, LTE) is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Proven ability to create and then analyze ideas for business potential. Proven skills to be able to work in a multi-national environment.
