RESUME STRATEGIES

"Less is more"
The following is a list of some of the major editing changes I made:Font: Most resumes are written in Times New Roman. I use other fonts, because it gives the resume a more modern look, and is an easier font for employers to read, skim and electronically scan.Use of numbers: In most professional writing circles, numbers less than 10 are spelled out, while numbers greater than 10 are stated numerically. In my resumes, all numbers (even single-digit numbers) are presented numerically, helping them stand out on the page and call the reviewer's attention to the metric. This allows faster and more accurate scanning of your resume, and improves the chance of getting noticed.Title Header: With your help, I listed the titles that best describe BOTH your actual background and your aspirations. This removes any doubt as to the type of position you are seeking. This header may be adjusted to the position for which you're applying.Profile: I created a paragraph at the beginning of the resume. This is the first thing an employer will review, and we want to make sure it captures your most important and relevant skills. Please review this section carefully, and make sure it hits all the high points.Key Competencies: I created this section to showcase your higher-level skills. This also helps employers more quickly assess your resume. You may want to add, delete or reorder this list. What has worked for you?
