What the Heck do they Want?
Are you a fit AND are you communicating how you are a great fit?
Can they visualize you in THEIR environment?
Ask yourself:
- You actually fit the position? You have the experience and skills to do the job?
- Could they tell that you can grab hold of a challenge and excite the organization to execute? You take advantage of meaningful opportunities?
- You understood the business?
- Will you accomplish what you are brought in to do? Are you collaborative? Will you remain focused on the objectives?
- Are you a Team player or a lone ranger?
- Do you give credit to others?
- Will they enjoy working with you?
- Will you fit the Company Culture? Do you share the same values that have helped make us successful?
- Do you really want to work here or do you just want the first job that makes an offer?
- Did you ask insightful questions?
- Were you succinct, honest and direct?
- Did you give examples of your work and provide tangible results including revenue and profit increases, share of market gains, customer retention?
- Did you do your homework before the interview?
- Were you prepared to discuss the company?
- Did you study the company’s business, products and competitors?
- Did you find and talk to anyone employed by the company?
- Make sure you prepare AND debrief after every encounter!
